Who we are

This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) applies to all information we collect, use and process about you as a customer in relation to the services you receive from us carried out by getHiring Limited (getHiring). getHiring is a data controller in respect of personal information that we process in connection with our business (including the services that we provide). In this Privacy Policy, references to “we”, “us” or “our” are references to getHiring.

We respect individuals’ rights to privacy and to the protection of personal information. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to explain how we collect and use personal information in connection with our business. 

The information we process

We collect and process various categories of personal and confidential information when you set up your profile with us. We will limit the collection and processing to information necessary to achieve one or more legitimate purposes in the service we provide. Personal and confidential information may include: a) basic personal information, including name and address, contact details, availability for jobs and skills you may have for relevant jobs. In rare circumstances, we might be asked to provide information to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or government request.


When you interact with the Services getHiring provides, we collect the information based on the profile you create. For example, we collect the skills, availability and your location of your getHiring profile and messages and replies in chats you may engage in. All getHiring and replies are public and are publicly displayed. Please keep in mind that if you include information that could identify you in the chat or image of your getHiring profile, people who see it may determine your identity. We do not post chat messages publicly but, as with any message that you send via any service, the recipient might do so.

Other information

You may provide other information directly to us. For example, we may collect information when you fill out a form, update your account, interact with the Services, email our company, communicate with us via third-party social media sites, request customer support or otherwise communicate with us.

Location information

Many features of the Services will not work unless you provide us with some information about your location. If you consent to the collection of location information (e.g. if you permit your mobile device to send us your latitude and longitude), we will collect and use this information both while you are directly using the Services and in the “background” (i.e. at times when you are not directly using the Services e.g. Pockets), so that we can tailor your interactions and experiences with the Services and to provide more relevant jobs opportunities or relevant candidates to you on our mobile applications. On occasions, our SOS adverts on getHiring may send you notifications of opportunities around you in real time. If you do not permit your mobile device to provide us with location information, or location information is not available from your device for technical reasons, we may use your IP address or information about the Wi-Fi SSID from which you access the Services to determine an approximate geographic location for your device.

Usage information

We collect information about your use of the Services, including access times, activites and profiles and adverts viewed, user and getHiring interactions (e.g. hearts, flags and replies) and other information about your interactions with us, the Services and other users. We use this information to, among other things, personalise your experience, provide and improve the Services, and monitor and analyse use of the Services.

Log information

We collect information in our log files when you use the Services. This includes, among other things, your browser and device type, language, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and the URL you visited before navigating to our websites. We use log information to provide, understand, and improve our Services.

Changes to the way we use your information

From time to time we may change the way we use your information. When we do, we will communicate any changes to you and publish the updated Privacy Policy on our website. Where we believe you may not reasonably expect such a change we will notify you and will allow a period of at least 30 days for you to raise any objections before the change is made.

The Services may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools, which let you share GetHiring with other media. Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature. Advertising and analytics services

To perform analytics and deliver relevant content and advertising, we may allow others to collect information about how you use our Services. Your mobile device also may include a feature (“Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt out of Interest-Based Ads” on Android) that allows you to opt out of having certain information collected through our mobile application used for behavioral advertising purposes.

Unless you have told us that you do not want to hear from us, we will send you relevant marketing information (including details of other products or services provided by us, other relevant marketing companies or other selected third parties which we believe may be of interest to you), by phone, email, text, mobile app

How long we keep your information

By providing you with services, we create records that contain your information, such as skills, availability, location and chats you may engage in. Records can be held on a variety of media (physical or electronic) and formats. 

We manage our records to help us to serve you well (for example for operational reasons, such as dealing with any queries relating to your profile) and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Records help us demonstrate that we are meeting our responsibilities and to keep as evidence of our business activities. 

Retention periods for records are determined based on your active profile. You may delete your profile at any time at which point your record will no longer exist and be searchable by any prospective job seeker or employer.

Your choices

Location information

When you first download or open any of our mobile applications or access certain features of the Services, you will be asked to enter your location information from your mobile device or platform. By filling in this information, you consent to the collection of this information but later can wish to withdraw your consent, you may do so at any time by either changing the address on your profile, turning off location settings on your device or deleting our mobile application.
